Lucky Pilgrim is about all the shiny things collected as I wander around. Maybe they aren’t actually shiny but somehow I noticed them and maybe stuck them in my pocket for awhile. I might have brought them home and placed them on my altar. Or stuck them in a drawer. Or put them in a box to add to a possible project somewhere in the distant future when I have more time. Consider it the ginormous junk drawer of my mind that I am trying to bring into some sensible order. Or maybe it is my way of telling about and offering gratitude for all the blessings and “daily presentations” as the poet Mary Oliver writes. Maybe it is me trying to follow in Mary’s footsteps. Maybe it is me carving my own path. Maybe I don’t know what in God’s name it is about but I feel like I have to do it anyway. Yep. That seems right.
